Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 29, 2026. This page explains what information Western Montana Roofing collects, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have — including exactly how we handle mobile phone numbers and text messages.
Written In Plain English, Not Legalese
We're a roofing contractor, not a data company. We collect what we need to quote your roof, schedule your crew, and stand behind our warranty — and nothing more. Jump to any section below.
The Business Behind This Policy
This privacy policy is published by Western Montana Roofing, a GAF Master Elite® certified roofing contractor with its office at 1440 W Broadway St, Missoula, MT 59802-2250. You can reach us at 406-616-7663 or [email protected]. Throughout this policy, "we," "us," and "our" mean Western Montana Roofing.
This policy covers information we collect through westernmontanaroofing.com, through our estimate and contact forms, over the phone, by text message, by email, and in person when our team visits your property. It applies to homeowners, property managers, commercial clients, and anyone who applies for a job with us.
We serve Missoula and communities across western Montana, including Lolo, Frenchtown, Stevensville, Hamilton, Florence, Bonner, Clinton, Polson, Ronan, St. Ignatius, Superior, Plains, Thompson Falls, Seeley Lake, Helena, Butte, Deer Lodge, and Great Falls.
Information We Collect From You
Contact details you give us. Your name, phone number (including mobile numbers), email address, service address, and city. This is what you type into our free estimate form, our contact form, or our online instant estimate tool — or what you tell us when you call, text, or meet with an estimator.
Project information. The type of work you need, notes and measurements from a roof inspection, photos of your roof, siding, or gutters, satellite and aerial measurements of your property, material and color selections, and the scope and pricing of the job.
Insurance claim information. If you ask us to help with a storm damage claim, we collect your insurance carrier name, claim number, adjuster contact information, policy scope documents, and related correspondence.
Payment and billing information. Invoicing details and payment records. Card and financing transactions are handled by third-party processors — we do not store full payment card numbers on this website.
Employment applications. If you apply through our employment opportunities page, we collect your resume, work history, certifications, and contact information.
Website and device information. When you visit westernmontanaroofing.com we automatically collect standard technical data through Google Analytics — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, and the site or search that referred you. We also use Google reCAPTCHA on our forms to block spam submissions.
What We Actually Do With Your Information
We use the information above to run our roofing business and to do the work you hired us for. Specifically, we use it to respond to estimate and service requests, schedule free inspections and installation dates, prepare and send quotes, order the right materials for your job, coordinate crew arrival times, and keep you updated while work is underway.
We also use it to invoice you and process payment, to register manufacturer warranties such as the GAF Golden Pledge® on your completed roof, to support insurance claims when you have asked us to work with your adjuster, to answer questions and handle warranty or service calls after a project is finished, and to evaluate job applications.
On the website side, we use analytics data to understand which pages people find useful, to fix broken pages, and to improve how the site works. We do not use it to build advertising profiles about you, and we do not sell it.
Finally, we use information as needed to keep records required by law, to comply with tax and licensing obligations, and to protect our legal rights.
Mobile Numbers and Text Messages
Western Montana Roofing uses text messaging to communicate with customers about estimates, scheduling, and active roofing projects. This section explains how mobile numbers are collected and used.
How we collect mobile numbers. We collect your mobile number directly from you — when you submit an estimate or contact form on this website and consent to text messages, when you call or text our office at 406-616-7663, or when you give your number to a member of our team in person. We do not buy, rent, or import mobile numbers from lead lists, data brokers, or any other outside source.
How we use mobile numbers. If you have given us your number and opted in to text messages, we use it to confirm appointments, send crew arrival windows, deliver estimates and project updates, reply to questions you have texted us, and follow up on completed work. We do not use text messaging to send advertising unrelated to your project, and we never text on behalf of another business.
No mobile information, phone numbers, or SMS opt-in data will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
The only exception is the messaging platform that transmits messages on our behalf, which acts solely as our service provider to deliver the texts you asked for. We require that provider not to use your number for its own marketing, and it is not permitted to share or sell it.
Your control. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, or by calling 406-616-7663. Full program details — message frequency, message and data rates, and how to get help — are on our SMS Terms & Conditions page at westernmontanaroofing.com/sms-terms/.
We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
Western Montana Roofing does not sell personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or otherwise make it available to third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We are not in the lead-generation business — your information is used to quote and complete your roofing project, and that's it.
This applies to every category of information described in this policy: your name, address, email, phone numbers, project details, insurance claim information, and website analytics data.
It applies with particular force to mobile data. No mobile information, phone numbers, or SMS opt-in data will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
When We Share Information, and With Whom
We share information only when it is needed to do your job or when the law requires it. That means the following limited situations.
Service providers who work for us. Our website host, our estimating and customer management software, our text messaging platform, our payment processor, and Google Analytics. These providers may only use your information to perform services for Western Montana Roofing.
Manufacturers, for warranty registration. When your project qualifies for a manufacturer warranty such as the GAF Golden Pledge®, we submit the job information required to register and activate that warranty in your name.
Your insurance company, when you ask us to. If you have engaged us on a storm or hail damage claim, we share inspection findings, photos, measurements, and scope documents with your carrier and adjuster so the claim can be processed.
Suppliers and subcontracted specialists. Delivery addresses and job details go to material suppliers so products reach your property, and to any specialist trade we bring in for part of your project.
Legal and safety requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, our crew, or the public.
All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Cookies and Website Analytics
Like most websites, westernmontanaroofing.com uses cookies and similar technologies. Google Analytics sets cookies that help us count visits and understand which pages are being read. Google reCAPTCHA sets cookies to tell real visitors apart from spam bots on our forms. Embedded content such as Google Maps and YouTube videos may set their own cookies when those elements load.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Our forms and maps may not work correctly if you block cookies entirely.
We do not sell website analytics data, and we do not use it to serve you advertising elsewhere on the internet. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, be aware that there is still no common industry standard for responding to it, so we do not currently respond to those signals.
How We Protect and Keep Your Information
How we protect it. This website is served over HTTPS, so information you submit through our forms is encrypted in transit. Access to customer records is limited to the owners, office staff, and estimators who need it to do their jobs. Our software vendors maintain their own security controls on the systems that store your data.
No website or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
How long we keep it. We keep project records for as long as we have a business reason to — which, for roofing, is a long time. Workmanship and manufacturer warranties on our installations run for decades, so we retain job files, photos, and material records for the life of the warranty and as long as tax, licensing, and insurance rules require.
Mobile numbers and SMS records. We keep your mobile number and opt-in record for as long as you remain opted in to text messages. If you reply STOP, we keep a minimal record of your opt-out so that we can honor it and make sure you are not messaged again. Estimate inquiries that never become projects are cleared from our active systems when they are no longer useful.
Your Choices and Your Rights
Stop text messages. Reply STOP to any text from us, or call 406-616-7663. See our SMS Terms & Conditions for full details.
Stop marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or just tell us. We will still email you about an active project, an invoice, or a warranty matter.
Ask for a copy of your information. Contact us and we will tell you what we have on file for you.
Correct or update your information. If your address, phone number, or project details are wrong, let us know and we will fix them.
Ask us to delete your information. We will delete what we can. We may need to keep records tied to a completed installation, an active warranty, an insurance claim, a contract, or a tax or legal obligation — and we will tell you if that applies to your request.
Different privacy laws apply to different businesses depending on size and location. Rather than sort out which ones cover us, we will honor these requests for anyone who asks, regardless of where you live. Call 406-616-7663 or email [email protected] and a person here will handle it.
Children, Outside Links, and Updates
Children's privacy. Our services are sold to property owners and our website is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at 406-616-7663 and we will delete it.
Links to other websites. This site links to outside pages — manufacturer sites such as GAF, IKO, and Malarkey, our Google Business profile, and embedded Google Maps and YouTube content. Once you follow a link or interact with embedded content, that company's privacy policy governs, not ours. We are not responsible for how other companies handle your information.
Changes to this policy. This privacy policy takes effect on July 29, 2026. If our practices change, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date at the top so you can see when it last changed. If we ever make a change that materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will say so clearly here. Your continued use of our website and services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
