Commercial Production Manager
Missoula, MT · On-Site · 50% Field / 50% Office
The Commercial Roofing Production Manager oversees all operations of our commercial roofing division. This role manages project planning and scheduling, coordinates in-house crews and multi-trade subcontractors, and ensures that commercial roofing projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will work directly with clients to provide quick and accurate inspections, negotiate contracts, address project issues, and maintain strong relationships.
Expect a 50% field / 50% office split: managing day-to-day expectations with our install crews and upcoming projects, pre-job walks with our foremen and GCs, bids, submittals, and client follow-up.
Qualifications
- Experience installing and leading commercial roofing is mandatory for this role, including planning, scheduling, and crew supervision.
- Knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, installation methods, and relevant building codes and safety standards, including TPO, PVC, and EPDM. Understanding shingle and metal roofing is a benefit, but not mandatory.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple jobs, timelines, and budgets concurrently.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications, preparing estimates, and using construction and project management software (experience with Bluebeam Revu, Procore, and Acculynx preferred).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, team members, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop teams, including performance management and coaching.
- Commitment to workplace safety, risk management, and compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to work on active job sites including schools and government jobs (clean background required).
- Previous supervisory experience in roofing, construction management, or a related field (industry certifications are a plus).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or relevant education in construction management is beneficial.
Commercial / Residential Estimator
Missoula, MT · Primarily Desk-Based
Western Montana Roofing is rapidly expanding, and we are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Commercial/Residential Roofing Estimator to join our growing team. As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in our growth by translating site inspections, satellite reports, and blueprints into accurate, informative estimates for potential customers. Working closely with our sales, marketing, and production management teams, you will act as a key communicator for our customers.
This position is primarily desk-based (8 hours per day) with occasional site visits for new construction projects or public job opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate generation & blueprint reading: Read and transcribe blueprints, specs, and plans to perform new construction take-offs for steep slope and flat roofing products using Bluebeam Revu (or similar software).
- Data translation & CRM management: Review satellite measurement reports and photo inspection reports, mark up PDFs to explain damage, and convert findings into comprehensive estimates using Acculynx.
- Pipeline & lead management: Manage an active pipeline of 25–200 prospect and customer leads (averaging 25–35 inbound leads per week), actively tracking job boards and public projects for new opportunities across Montana.
- Client relationship & communication: Maintain regular, proactive communication with customers by phone, email, or text to explain estimates, address defects, provide upsells, and ensure top-tier customer satisfaction.
- Accuracy: Maintain a strong attention to detail. All jobs run through this role, so it is critical that estimates are done to completion with the correct materials and labor to ensure smooth production for each customer.
Metal Roofing Installer
Missoula, MT · Field-Based · Occasional Overnight Travel
As a Metal Roofing Installer, you will work with our internal crew to produce metal roofing jobs to completion, following our processes, completing repairs, and handling production for all of our metal jobs. This includes conducting a preliminary site visit, completing metal takeoffs when needed, performing roofing tear-offs, and participating in all aspects of metal roofing installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Completing mechanical lock, snap lock, exposed fastener systems, and all other metal roofing jobs
- Completing metal siding installations
- Following the direction of the metal lead to work with your team and complete roofs in a timely manner
- Following all of Western Montana Roofing’s quality standards
- Maintaining on-job communication with property owners
- Ensuring on-site job quality, cleanliness, and safety
- Assisting with flat roofing, shingle roofing, gutters, and repairs on an as-needed basis
- Occasional overnight travel within Montana and surrounding states
Flat Roofing Installer
Missoula, MT · Field-Based · Occasional Overnight Travel
As a Flat Roofing Installer, you will be joining our internal crews for the day-to-day installation, repair, and production of our flat roofing systems, including TPO, PVC, and EPDM.
Key Responsibilities
- Flat roofing takeoffs
- Material ordering and labor ticket creation
- Installation of all flat roofing jobs
- Following SOPs for safety, company policies, and all installation procedures
- Quickly responding to any and all customer concerns and callbacks
- Maintaining on-job communication with property owners
- Ensuring on-site job quality, cleanliness, and safety
- Assisting with metal roofing, shingle roofing, gutters, and repairs on an as-needed basis
- Occasional overnight travel within Montana and surrounding states
