Siding Built to Stand Up to Montana Weather
Western Montana Roofing brings the same craftsmanship that earned us GAF Master Elite® roofing status to your home's exterior. We install LP® SmartSide® engineered wood siding and 26-gauge Protech Steel panels — two product lines chosen to handle western Montana's seasons.
Missoula, MT
Siding Done Right, by a Contractor You Already Trust
For years, homeowners across Missoula and the Bitterroot and Mission valleys have trusted Western Montana Roofing to protect what's overhead. New and replacement siding is a natural extension of that work — the same skilled crew, the same attention to detail, applied to the walls that keep Montana's wind, rain, and snow on the outside where it belongs.
We install two proven product lines: LP® SmartSide® engineered wood siding, trim, soffit and fascia, and 26-gauge Protech Steel siding panels. Whether your existing siding is cracked, faded, warped, or simply dated, we'll walk your home with you, lay out honest options in both materials, and install siding that looks sharp and performs for decades. Pairing a new exterior with a roof replacement? We coordinate both so the finished result lines up perfectly.

Exterior Work Backed by Real Credentials
We're not a here-today-gone-tomorrow crew. Western Montana Roofing is licensed, insured, and locally owned, with a dedicated team of skilled employees who treat every home like their own. As one of fewer than 2% of contractors nationwide to earn GAF Master Elite® roofing status, we hold our siding work to that same standard — quality materials from LP® and Protech Steel, clean job sites, straight lines, and a finish you'll be proud to show off.
Call (406) 616-7663A Missoula Crew That Shows Up
When you hire us for siding, you're hiring a local company you can actually reach. We're based right here in Missoula, we answer the phone, and we show up when we say we will. That matters when you're trusting someone with the entire exterior of your home.
Our materials are local too — Protech Steel rolls its panels right here in Montana, which means shorter lead times and fewer supply-chain surprises on your project. From the first walkthrough to the final cleanup, you'll work with people who live in the same weather your siding has to survive. Need more than siding? Ask about our metal roofing and gutter work while we're on site.
"Super professional experience. Great communication and great quality roofing."
See our profileLP® SmartSide® & 26-Gauge Steel
Montana puts siding through everything — UV all summer, freeze-thaw through the shoulder seasons, and heavy snow loads in winter. That's why we install two materials built for it. LP® SmartSide® is engineered wood composite: it carries the depth and texture of real wood siding with far better resistance to moisture, impact, and freeze-thaw cycling than traditional wood. Protech Steel is 26-gauge painted steel — the toughest option we offer, and effectively immune to rot, cracking, and hail dings.
Both come with clean trim work around windows, gables, and corners. The steel gable shown here is a good example of how the right material and a careful install hold up beautifully, season after season.
"They immediately took accountability and are redoing the panels to ensure it is done exactly right. Unexpected things happen in construction, but it's how a company responds that matters. I am entirely satisfied with their integrity and communication, and I highly recommend them."

View ProductRoof, Siding & Gutters in Sync
Hiring separate contractors for your roof and siding usually means mismatched schedules, finger-pointing, and seams that don't quite line up. We handle the full exterior under one roof — literally. That means your roof repair or replacement, new siding, soffit and fascia, and gutters are planned together, installed by one accountable team, and finished to match. Because we run steel on both roofs and walls, we can even coordinate colors across the whole envelope. Fewer crews on your property, fewer surprises, and one company standing behind all of it.
"All the folks at western Montana roofing are amazing. Very professional and made my roof look like new. The price was by far the best in town."

Siding FAQs
Common signs include warping, cracking, persistent peeling paint, soft or rotting spots, and rising heating bills. If you're noticing several of these, it's worth a free inspection — we'll tell you honestly whether a repair or a full replacement makes more sense.
We install two lines. LP® SmartSide® engineered wood composite — lap siding, panel and vertical siding, plus matching soffit, trim, and fascia. And Protech Steel in 26 gauge — 5" Dutch lap, Double 5" lap, board and batten, and flat or corrugated panel profiles. During your estimate we'll walk through which fits your home, your look, and your budget.
It comes down to look and priorities. LP® SmartSide® gives you authentic wood grain and depth, takes paint beautifully, and is easy to work into traditional or craftsman-style homes. Protech Steel is the most durable option we offer — it won't rot, crack, or take hail damage the way softer materials can, and it's a natural fit for modern, agricultural, and ranch-style exteriors. Plenty of homes we work on use both: lap on the main walls, board and batten or steel on gables and accents.
Yes. We install LP® soffit, trim, and fascia alongside your siding so the eaves, corners, and window surrounds all match. Soffit matters for more than looks — proper venting keeps air moving through your attic, which protects your roof from moisture and ice damming.
Yes — and it's often the smartest way to do it. As a full-exterior contractor, we coordinate roofing and siding with one team so the schedule, the seams, and the final look all line up. It usually saves time and hassle versus hiring separate crews.
Yes. Western Montana Roofing is licensed, bonded, and insured, and we're a GAF Master Elite® certified contractor — a status fewer than 2% of contractors nationwide hold. You're protected, and so is your home.
Always. On-site estimates are free, and you'll get clear written pricing with no obligation and no high-pressure sales tactics.
Most residential siding projects take a few days to about a week, depending on the size of the home, the material, and the weather. We'll give you a realistic timeline during your estimate and keep you updated throughout.
Western Montana Roofing returned all of my phone calls, was on time, was polite and helpful, extremely reliable, very professional, and provided fast and complete service. The job estimate for my house and separate garage was very-very thorough with many pictures provided to explain the areas of concern and the work was completed at the estimated cost. I highly recommend Western Montana Roofing for your roofing needs.
